good'day to you too :>well hello guys. i'm back. just arrived home and suffering from some mild stuffiness. so hi.
i just uploaded 70+ photos here but i think i'll delete them. the post is going to be too long if i were to show you all the photos :3
so the temperature in seoul now is 3 degree... for the past few days that i've been in seoul it has always been around -5 and above T.T" AND WHEN I LEFT YOU GAVE ME SUCH A GOOD TEMPERATURE...
So let's start the post alright?
but first (sorry), there's a high possibility that i don't remember several events due to my gold fish memory so do pardon me if my post don't make much sense :/
ALRIGHT
Day 1.
So we started the day with the plane flight to seoul-incheon airport. I think the flight took about 6 h and it was tiresome. I know, i used to say how i loved long airplane flights but now, i'm growing a thorn for it. After the 13 hours flight to Europe previously, planes are not exactly my favourite type of transport. Plus, plane food is always horrible...
Anyway, i think we arrived at about
(wait side note: OMG INSTAGRAM CAN VIEW PROFILE OMGOMGOMG)
(sorry, i tried to get my pictures from instagram but i can't seem to do it, so if you wanna see them just go on instagram, the photos here will solely be from my d5000)
6 in the morning(+8gmt)
7(+9gmt [korea timing])
Waited at the airport for our guide and then off we go.
We boarded a taxi/bus/limo/car. (okay, i haven't got any idea what the vehicle really was, it's like one of those vehicles the idols take but it could fit like 10 people so i think i'll just call it a bus o.o)
So... we boarded the minibus and got to this kimchi factory.
We had some kimchi-making-fun and got to try on some traditional costume. We even had a private photographer, but nono, me take nice :3
That was the first thing we did, after which we went to this shopping street, Woman's Fashion Street. More appropriately it's called Ewha Woman's University Fashion Street. It's not that it's a female's shopping street, it's just called that because of the nearby university.
We spent around an hour there, when I first set foot on the ground, i couldn't help but shiver like crazy. I think that street was in Sinchon and then, Sinchon was about 4 degree celsius.
While walking along, we didn't buy anything except for some tiny accessories and stuff yadayadayada... pfft, shopping..
BUT while walking I saw this :
어퓨,hahaha, first i spotted the huge Kikwang outside then I saw Dujun :3 and i started freaking out :/ (E X P E C T E D)
After wondering around and trying to get used to the weather, went into this awesome bakery :
hohoho and i saw this in cheongdamdong alice (new drama ^^)
Then up we went to the bus for fooooooooood.
Had Ginseng Chicken Soup Noodle/Rice in a traditional korean restaurant. Being in a traditional korean eating area meant that i had to sit cross-legged on the floor while wearing 3 sets of pants... not cool.
and we then saw the first snow falling. , oh it was a snow storm to be exact, an unexpected heavy snow fall.I heard from the locals such snow only comes a few days before christmas, guessed the weather came early :/
Since it snowed, the wind speed was slower so it wasn't as cold.
Then we went to the airport to head for Jeju.
in the plane.the plane was later delayed for and hour. When we boarded the plane, it was again delayed for an hour due to the sudden heavy snow fall covering the whole runway. Then there was this moment when i slept in the plane before it flew off, then i woke up and kept wondering if i've reached jeju yet or not. Turns out the plane didn't leave yet...
What's more horrible, when we were flying to jeju, there were strong winds so ... let's just say it wasn't a really pleasant ride.
After we arrived, went to see this stone looking dragon, i didn't get to take pretty photos cause it was raining heavily then ...
so...
//
Then we went to have our dinner.
sashimi, wasn't as grand as the one we ate in japan, but i guess it was filling. the quail eggs and the fish was awesome :3 and we got ramen to go with all the food, really good ramen.other than this there were lots of expensive seafood, but i'm not really fond of any of them.
Then after dinner, went to get some cup noodles and then checked in to The Shilla.
First, the HOTEL IS AWESOME. It's right beside, lotte's and i've got to say, i very much preferred Shilla better.
The room i got was one of the special rooms, unlike my brother's we got some traditional looking room with the whole wooden floor as the heater (Ondol Room)
When we enter, the room, it was lighted by the warmest dim light. At the door way, there was a place for us to put our shoes before stepping up onto the wooden floor that was slightly heated. The room was huge and the toilet was just... too great. Had really fast wifi and the greatest view. We had vintage furnitures and vanity desk that was on the floor, which meant we had to sit on the floor and all, traditional.
Unlike my brother's room which was those of the typical hotel rooms, carpeted floor with the dullest colour for the room. None the less, it was as big as mine.
After which, bathe and rested.
I ate my Kinder Egg and got this chop thingy...
oh and the angry bird was from the airport :3Day 2,
Woke up with a sun rise,
you can't really see it because my iso was too high T.THad breakfast at the hotel then we went to the Teddy Bear Museum,
just pardon the horrible facial expression... let's move on.
At the museum my family bought lots of teddy bears home and we even managed to get one of the limited edition bears. Still, seriously, who buys 300 000 won worth of teddy bears?
After this, we went to a gravity-defying road. It's an illusion really.
But the scenery there was pretty cool.
Then food,
After that went for Atv ride and Horse Riding. Oh and guess what, Apink, Infinite, Big Bang and others were there before :3 ke. okay. whatever.
Didn't get to take any photos cause i didn't want my camera to turn all muddy.
After that went to a fruit farm to pluck some Mandrains.
Then up to the mountain.
Let's just say my stamina that day was horrible and i had the worst time climbing up.
But let's allow the photos to speak for themselves for now,
After that went to the Trick Art Museum,
since i don't have any pretty photos of the museum, let's allow the egg tarts from the museum to be in the spot light.(they are awesome and this is coming from someone who hates egg tarts)After that went to watch the Nantas show. It was awesome. If they were to ever come Singapore again ( they came before ) i will watch the show.
Then dinner. I can not remember what we ate meeeeeeeeh.
Day 3,
Breakfast at Shilla then off to the airport for Gyeonggido
cr. my sister.Upon Arrival, ate then set for Everlaaaaaaaaand.
First it was freezing. I believe a negative. It was so cold that Everland was nearly empty and this scene was phenomenal, a never before seen.
(Oh, anyway, i forgot to mention. Jeju seldom see snow. And for the 3 days when we've been there, after the first rain, it started snowing forever... )
Got to try many rides but then, many of the rides were also close due to the weather. Anyway, i think Everland was waaaaay better then Lotte World, I MEAN THEY HAVE A ZOO AND SAFARI HOW COOL IS THAT. Also, i would have really wanted to go to Caribbean Bay if not for the weather.
i didn't even knew a LiGer existed (Tiger+Lion)The safari was really the best, got to see a dancing bear, who can resist that?
saw lots of singaporean and malaysian tours out there though :3After that Dinner.
the awesome of the awesomest, bbq pork!It was really great and now i'm really hungry just looking at the picture... okay. NEXT.
Then checked in to Interburgo Hotel in Daegu.
Got some hauls in.
sorry, i couldn't resist a wolf.Day 4,
Checked out of the hotel and was really glad too. Let's just say because of the hotel in Jeju, my eyes wasn't really please with the one in Daegu.
Breakfast and took a really loong ride to somewhere in korea to rent some skiing clothing and ski mask and boots and all the stuff.
Went up the mountain to skiiiiiii, i didn't get any photos because well, i was skiing and all.
Then went checked in to Kangwonland High 1 Ski Resort.
It was magnificent too but i still very much prefer a traditional room like in Jeju. But this was really satisfying, we get a good view of the mountain :o
After that my brother decided to go for some swimming... i don't know why. But i chose to stay in the hotel and just chill out while watching MBCKpop festival in Vietnam live :3 Perks for being in Korea then.
Then Dinner,
ootn, cliche.
STEAMBOAT YUM.Day 5,
Went up to the skiing mountain there again but this time for scenery check and even higher(still I think Switzerland was much more magnificent, speaking of switz, it was much warmer there then in korea, even with the constant snowing, there was still strong wind so i was literally freezing. Many of a times, i wore 6sets of clothing not counting the winter clothing)
One really cool thing about this skiing ground, the levels are named after Greek Gods. But i think Zeus was like Beginner level... Hahahaha, anyway, i forgot to mention, while skiing Beast, Ns Yoonji, Btob, Psy(expected) was being played oh and Big Bang too.
the fish cake thingy from korea. It's really nice and the soup is even better.
(an/w, korea restaurants don't mind refilling your food. you can finish a plate of egg and still ask for more. omg i'm hungry)
up here is the top. at first i thought i will be able to stand it since i've been through -20 before but this was -26 degrees and there was the strongest winds, i was afraid i will die freezing.. for real. After going down hill, set off for Lotte World.
Before leaving, watched this Kpop Musical, sadly there wasn't a Beast song :/ But it was great. There were many shows before and i can't help but be mesmerised at their will to prepare so many shows for one day. After having dinner at Lotte, checked in to Sheraton Walkerhill, Gwangjang-do, Seoul.
Day 6,
I can't remember what we did today, so day 6 will be pretty brief.
Hotel, breakfast.
Ride to this area in korea where sbs, mbc, kbs, cj, jbtc and yg were in. Had bibimbap there. Was a restaurant of one of the actors from DACHANGJIN(im hungry, so too lazy to type any chinese words)
By the way, yg's building is shaped like a y, let's be glad cube's building is shaped like a cube too, only longer o/o.
I think there were some activities here and there it's just that i didn't get any photos of it, but i can't remember what i did, so psht.
Then we took off to myeongdong where they have this shopping street that sells lots of random stuff and also Lotte Shopping Mall.
Pictures, i'm really getting too lazy to type.
for the b2uties, you remember this from beast trailer video before their debut? The one where kikwang saw his huge Aj photo somewhere on the building and the video where they edited it and put beast's logo on the screen above. The area where they danced? ??? DO YOU REMEMBER. Okay i'm freaking out again. But yea, it's there.
these were great but the service was horrible. i'm sorry, but this china woman was like giving an expression like "buy it or leave" and yes she's from china. stereotype? but yea i don't really fancy china people because of the many experiences i have with them...
Went to artbox and can't believe how cheap the stuff there were compared to Singapore.
The hoddie cause about 40$ but if it were to be in Singapore, probably a 60$ and that schedule book is only like 7$ in Singapore, maybe a 20. The bag too was cheap. There this slipper i bought from artbox in singapore for 30$ but only sell for 12$ in Korea...wts.
Day 7,
This day was a day where the guide was off work so we had time with ourselves. Woke up later then usual and went to several places. I'll just shut myself up for this day while you read the pictures. But before that, at one of the places that we've went, there was a filming going on and i recognized Running Man's Maknae Pd. :O
Okay.
경북궁:
인사동:
We then went to myeong dong again ....
Then,
동대문:
남산:
Dinner at a fancy restaurant in Namsan tower, facing a wonderful night scenery,
how fancy can this spaghetti worth 20$+ get??
a must see love locks <3When i took the cable car up to the freezing tower, Sunggyu's 6os was played, and i think the cable car ride really did took 60s.
Hauls for the day:
Day 8,
hotel, sleep, hotel, eat, hotel shop.
Day 9,
Off to some shops, bought some stuff, then to the airport. Had kfc( WHICH WAS HORRIBLE CAUSE THEY DIDNT HAVE MASHED POTATO ) Then flight home.
ohohoh by the way, before arriving at the airport, saw the shop HeadXBeast and they have wall murals of beast all around ^^
so here i am now. alright i'm too hungry kay bye.
//
korea was fun. really. if it wasn't so freezing cold, so much to the bones, i would have enjoyed it more. none the less, it was a great trip.
being on the streets in korea was a really different feeling. it was livelier than japan's, much more interesting than switzerland's . i don't know, but i think i like korea's way of shopping so far :/ hmm, i don't really understand what i just said but meeeeeeeh.
anyway,
i ended the trip with a not so high note.
see.
the photographer that we had along. it makes me so sad. his story.
the guide told us about the photographer who was fully korean and had no exact idea what the guide was talking about.
but yes, it may also be a technique to get people to buy his photographs but i chose not to feel so. i think it's real.
he is a really young. 23 to be exact. A few years back he was happily studying in a university in korea and while doing so, he had a girlfriend.
then the drama starts. he got his girlfriend pregnant. he had to quit uni to get the money to pay for all the pregnancy stuff, you know those check ups and stuff?
anyway, he then got married to her. so now he is basically a guy who had a bright future but fell. a fallen star. then to go on with life, he take pictures to sell.
and i'm utterly heart broken thinking about it. it's just so sad. like a drama that i won't think exist in reality.
i feel pity. i don't want to but i do.
to make me feel better, i pray he and his family do live a happy and good life. i do hope, nothing bad happens to them.
